Ma-asha Luthfee

Ma-asha Luthfee is a Senior Partner at Alif Law Chambers LLP. She is also a member of the Bar Council of the Maldives, and an Advocate in the Superior Courts, the High Court and the Supreme Court of the Maldives.

Prior to joining Alif Law Chambers LLP, Ma-asha was a Senior State Counsel at Attorney General’s Office. Ma asha started her legal career in 2008 as a Legal Officer Trainee at Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture. After graduation, Ma-asha joined the Attorney General’s Office as a Deputy State Attorney in 2012. During her 6 years tenure at Attorney General’s Office, she worked as a State Attorney from 2014 to 2015, Senior State Attorney from 2015 to 2018, State Counsel from March 2018 to September 2018 and as a Senior State Counsel from September 2018 to May 2019. Ma-asha was also a Lecturer at the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law, Maldives National University, from November 2019 to January 2022. Ma-asha was also a member of the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board of the Maldives from January 2018 to May 2019.

Ma-asha completed her Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Oxford Brookes University, UK, in 2012. She completed her Master of Laws in International and Commercial Law with Distinction, from University of Buckingham, UK in 2015.  She specializes in Financial Services Law and some of her specializing areas include Banking Law, Law of Business Organizations and Marine Insurance.
